Dog Trainer Dunedin

Paws4Success has one aim: To use our knowledge to enable dog owners to have a peaceful and harmonious life with their best friends. Paws4Success, through personalised and interactive sessions, sets out to transform dogs and coach dog owners in understanding their dog's language, seeing the world through their eyes and applying the four leadership pillars essential in dog ownership. Our society is an alien world for dogs, and they do not understand how it works. Therefore, to help them adjust to our environment, they need to be guided by their leaders, who are the pet owners. They must also receive the necessary training to help them understand the world around them and make sense of it.

The personalised approach to puppy and adult dog training which Paws4Success offers provides a sound foundation for puppies to have a good start in life. This foundation teaches them to be well-behaved dogs around other dogs and people, as well as correcting unwanted behaviours in dogs by using leadership principles applied in wolf packs. Through Paws4Success, we aim to combine knowledge, experience and passion for giving your furry friend a happy life that will contribute to your dog's happiness and, ultimately, your happiness.

Profile - Hannah Fisher

Owner/Dog Trainer

My name is Hannah Fisher. Growing up around horses, dogs and cats, I developed a deep and passionate love for all furry friends with a special affinity for dogs. For many years, I worked in the corporate world across various industries. At some point, I realised that I felt empty on the inside because I did not pursue what I had in my heart all along - a desire to work with dogs.

Having reached the point where I wanted to bring about a career change, I started volunteering as a canine assistant at the SPCA here in Dunedin, which I absolutely loved. During this time, my heart's desire to work with dogs grew stronger and stronger, and I started studying for and completed a qualification in Dog Psychology, Behaviour and Training. The SPCA gave me the opportunity to do obedience training with their rescue dogs on a volunteer basis, and I was also offered the privilege to train the dogs of friends.

Driven by these successes as a dog trainer, I decided to establish Paws4Success. Paws4Success sets out to transform dogs and coach dog owners in understanding their dog's language, seeing the world through their eyes and applying the four leadership pillars essential in dog ownership. This knowledge enables dog owners to have a peaceful and harmonious life with their best friends.

I have a special place in my heart for rescue dogs who, more often than not, through no fault of their own, need to find another home but who may have gone through some trauma in their lives. Rescue dogs have special needs, and it is an absolute privilege for me to help rescue dog owners form a lifelong bond with their rescue dogs- the bond whose foundations are the gentle leadership principles applied in a wolf pack. Once the rescue dog's trauma is overcome, a deep bond between the rescue dog and the owner can develop that prevents the yoyo-effect so many rescue dogs experience and suffer from.

I have also recently completed a Foundation Course in Amichien Bonding. Where I learnt about dog leadership principles as they are applied in a wolfpack by the Alpha male and the Alpha female.
